Yorkshire born and bred—growing up in the former mining towns and villages around Pontefract—I’ve always had a strong desire to support trades businesses, given nearly everyone I’ve ever known has either owned or worked in one, so it’s a world I genuinely care about.
I’ve worked in both in-house and freelance marketing, but what I enjoy most is chatting with business owners about their trade. I’ve picked up loads along the way—probably enough to not look completely out of place on-site. That said, I’ll leave the proper graft to you—but I’m looking forward to hearing about your business and seeing how I can help you grow.

Born and raised in Cheshire, I've always had a passion for business development (which often sounds cooler than it is in practice) but ended up, like most, working jobs I never cared for.
It got to a point where Patrick and I put our heads together to work for ourselves, in an industry that we actually care about, and put our wide range of skills to good use. From website development and financial admin, to designing sales funnels and creating logos, we work hard to offer everything we can to those we work with, and forming long-term partnerships is the highlight of this business.

Slingshot Marketing came from the same drive many tradesmen know well – the desire to break free from the 9–5 and work for ourselves. After years stuck behind desks in the corporate world, drowning in meetings and red tape, we knew there had to be a better way. So we took the leap, just like many of our clients have, and built something of our own.
We wanted to create a down-to-earth, no-nonsense marketing service that actually helps trades businesses grow – without the fluff, jargon or suits. Today, we’re proud to be a trusted partner to tradesmen across the UK, helping them succeed online while staying true to who they are.

Stuck in the 9-5, we took the same first step so many of you did - branching out on our own and founded Slingshot - taking years of in-house marketing and admin experience to action.

We focused building up our brand ethos before anything else. We both hated the fakeness of 'corporate' - and wanted to make sure that our business was fully transparent and down-to-earth.
